Looking back already - ego boost deluxe 0

Wow. And I do mean wow.

The last week or so has been great fun. I launched the blog and set a decent updating schedule for myself. The purpose was to give myself a sandbox as well as a starting point for my projects, and although I haven’t more than touched the latter I still feel that the blog is moving in the right direction.

Since then I’ve received a bunch of e-mails, a couple of freelance offers (I’ll take one of them, thank you very much – stay tuned!) and some project input. Overall the response have been great and I’m happy to see that the readers are pouring in. I didn’t really expect that, but it’s all good of course and I will definitely make an extra effort because of it.

But first I have to catch up, refine my strategy and so on. Expect more information about freelancing and upcoming projects in the coming weeks. As well as a review of The Persuaders box and, as I’ve promised earlier, Isabel Allende’s Zorro: A Novel.

Introducing Pale Publishing 3

You might have noticed the link to Pale Publishing on the bottom of every page here at the blog, or perhaps on the Links page. But actually following the link doesn’t tell you all that much so I figured I’d lift the lid a bit and tell you about my first international publishing outing.

Turtles trailer released 2

I just watched the trailer for the upcoming animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, and it looks bloody sweet. I feel that the producers and animators has been true to the comic books that started it all. Granted, the trailer doesn’t really show all that much but still – it makes me long for it a lot more than the Transformers trailer

Apple has the trailer, but us non-Quicktimers can watch it on Youtube. Be sure to check out the comic’s homepage as well.

Oh yeah, movie premiere is March 30th 2007. Lists ‘n stuff at IMDB as always.

Blog posts for sale makes blogosphere boil 5

How I enjoy watching the blogosphere from a distance, and how I have to bite my lip not to get overly involved. I’ve been doing that for quite some time now, but obviously failing that with my recent write-up about a blog sale, I just can’t help but keep going about the subject. Read more

How to become a great writer in ten minutes 5

There’s a lot of people out there who wants to write fiction, either as full-fledged novels or short stories, for a living. Or maybe just on their free time, but they want to get it read, get it published. Some are satisfied with putting their work on the Internet, which is fine of course, but most want their magical words put on a page, in a book, that you buy in a bookstore.

When I think about it, the same goes for most journalists. The web’s fine for starters, but most of them dream about a staff position at a print magazine… But I digress.

The future according to Apple? 0

There’s a really interesting blogging project that’s been going on for almost a year. 365 tomorrows features a new (really) short story every day, all “speculative fiction” if you’re to take the project’s own statement as a definition. Which you should since it’s pretty much on the mark.

PTD #10 is available 1

PTD cover July 2006The July issue of PTD has hit the web, being a mammoth with over 130 pages. PTD is a PDF magazine that you can download for free, and you really should.

This isn’t the first issue I’m covered in, but it is my debut as a staffer. “Production assistant” is what they’re calling me, but rest assured I will be all over the place anyway. Super Secret Monkey is more attuned to my actual role in my opinion.

I’ve got a couple of reviews in this issue, including Super Princess Peach, Singstar Rocks! and Lemmings.

Anyways, get the magazine!

Transformers hits the big picture 4

They’re making a movie based on the classic Transformers toys. You know, “robots in disguise”, Optimus Prime, Megatron and Beetlebum. Coming soon 2007 apparently, which of course is way to far into the future.

Then again, it will probably suck. The trailer didn’t get me all too excited, but take a look by all means – it’s a kind of official announcement you might say. You’ll find it on the official movie site.

Blog making $44/month sold for $1,400 4

There’s blog starting up and closing down every minute, and most of them either sucks or are totally uninteresting for the vast majority of people. Some of them, however, has a nice idea and a lot of potential but still doesn’t reach its expected peak. And some never really kick of when it comes to revenue and/or visitors – but get sold anyway. Like this last deal that just went through.
