I just registered four new domains for my blog network. That means I have nine possible launches this year, including Bloggertalks.com but not counting the portal page for the network.
No, I’m not going to run them all. Actually, I don’t plan on participating anything in the day to day work for either of these new registrations. That would be crazy.
Neither will I be able to pull off a nine site launch, including the network itself. Bloggertalks.com is nearby, and the blog coming after that isn’t all that hard to get on track, truth to be told.
Three, maybe four launches before the year’s end? Yeah, that’s possible. Let’s see if I can make it happen.
I’ll announce a launch date for Bloggertalks.com soon. Very soon.
A lot of blog networks need to do a bit of cleaning up to get their focus going - something John Evans over at Syntagma posted about today. He has a whole bunch of points, although most are swiped from Odeo-buybacker and Blogger creator Evan Williams. Still, it’s valid and it touches one of the problems with blog networks: They are too wide, too unfocused, and too unbranded.
So they evolve, as they should. Do it over, do it right.

It is past midnight and I have just closed down a particular file called bloggertalks.psd. It just happens to contain the final Bloggertalks layout draft, which will be getting the Wordpress theme treatment during the upcoming days.
Earlier I showed you the logo but if you’re expecting screenshots you’ll be disappointed, I’m keeping the layout for myself a little while longer.
There will be a splash page up over at bloggertalks.com, however, and I’ll kick my extremely talented writer into action as well as (hopefully) recruit one or two more.
Remember when I wrote that I felt like starting a blog network, and you didn’t take me seriously? Well, you’ll see.
PS. I’ve also updated the Projects page. Nighty-night!
It’s getting closer to launch…

Stay tuned…
What is it with solitaires? I would never take out a deck of cards and lay out a game of Solitaire (you know, the traditional kind) nor would a open up the (purely fictional, unfortunately) box of Mah-Jong bricks to do a solitaire set-up there either.
No way would I play Memory with myself.
And then a game comes along for the Nintendo DS or PSP. Err, scratch that – the PSP’s lacking still. Poor Sony…

Go figure huh? Want to know what it is and why I’ve chosen it? Do you really?
Of course you do.

Got this little list from Ars Technica, who have read a recent study. So why not answer it?
- uses the Internet regularly - yes
- feels that personal relationships have suffered as a result of excessive Internet use – err, sometimes yes
- conceals non-essential Internet use – tricky, I’d say no I guess
- feels preoccupied by the Internet when offline – I’m a blogger, so hell yes!
- finds it difficult to stay away from the Internet for several days at a time – oh yes, absolutely
- goes online to escape problems or relieve negative mood – nah, I drink scotch
- has tried to cut back on Internet use (if so, was it successful?) – haven’t crossed my mind, no
- how often respondent stays online longer than intended - always
How about you? Are you as much a lost cause as I am?
I’d like to talk a little about the first international blog I’ll be launching. Actually, I intend to do it in a number of brief posts covering both the creation process and the actual vision of the site.
So yeah, the launch is imminent, a couple of weeks away if nothing evil happen. Which it will, so I’ve planned accordingly – this isn’t my first site launch, as I’ve pointed out previously.

This is the fourth time I’ve started to write about The Scar. Not that I find it hard to phrase or anything, it just keeps slipping since I have so bloody many things to do and a schedule from Hell, as in Hell.
Perdido Street Station, by author China Miéville, was truly a masterpiece which you all know by now (shame on you otherwise). That book review was a lot harder to write because the book is written on a whole different level, and also introducing the twisted world of Bas-Lag. Perdido Street Station is, on top of that, pretty hard to grasp and not for those of you with poor English.

I hate Monday mornings (don’t we all). Thousands of entries in my feed reader, 60+ e-mails I really need to respond to by the end of the day, 20 or so possible topics to write about, last stuff to haul out of the old office this evening and an already cramped schedule that’ll force me to 14 hours of work each day if I’m to piece it all together.
And the milk’s gone bad.
I hate Monday mornings.
