You know, people should just get Firefox. Really. My life would have been so much easier then, and you don’t want me to suffer, pull my 3mm long hair and scream obscenities on the inside?
I thought so. Get it. Thanks.

David Krug tagged me with this five things, err, thing. It’s like a chain letter of the blogosphere or something, which tells me I just should ignore it, but hey, why not?
1. I published a pen and paper roleplaying “magazine” on floppy disks waaay back. Two issues, ten or so subscribers, huge hit. Not. That later evolved to a webzine, and even further down the road, to a print magazine. In Swedish, of course.
2. I have (had?) the record for skipping class back in school. Why? Because I’d rather sit in the library reading books, listen to music, or write short stories.
3. The first “book” I published was a pen and paper zombie horror roleplaying game called Splatter. It was written purely on a whim, I don’t even like horror movies or books.
4. The second book was about Sega’s last videogame console, Dreamcast, and how it fared in Sweden. I had some insight there, producing the official campaign site for it.
5. I’m a really heavy hitter in golf. Like in really heavy…
So the idea is to keep this alive. I’ll tag Tony, Petter, Liz, John and Hart. Taggy-taggy!
It really is, and that feels great. I’m doing two at the same time, and one of them is 99% complete. That feels nice.

I’ve updated to version 3.0 of Steve Smith’s Tiger Admin for Wordpress, and it looks wonderful. A lot of nuisances have been fixed, such as the trackback form, and the overall style is a lot easier on the eye. The font is smaller though, which might or might not be a bother to you, but I don’t mind. It’s still sweet and stylish.
Tiger Admin 3.0 also offers better support for lots of plugins. For instance, if you have many plugins activated that have options pages, the top menu now works better, in part because of the smaller font of course. I’m also happy to see that 3.0 and Ultimate Tag Warriors plays nicely, they did before as well but it didn’t look this good.
The one thing I did find was in the category box on the post screen. I still think that field can be improved around the Add category input box. There might be other things as well, I’ve just started to play around, but I’m pleased.
Head over to Ordered List and download Tiger Admin 3.0. Do you like it?
I’ve removed the Sociable plugin and replaced it with less ugly Share This plugin by Alex King. It doesn’t seem to play perfectly with my current theme, but I appreciate the simple take Alex has taken with it so I’ll let it slide for now. A new theme is in the works (in my head) anyway, since I feel I need to push myself a bit harder now that I’m for hire.
Also, due to popular request, you can now subscribe to comments.
It’s always nice to get some inbound links to posts and work in general that you do. Not only does it give you new readers, you can also feel good about yourself since the article or post in question apparently is good enough to link.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank David Krug for the kind words in Five simple steps to build a great team blog, a great post with some great advice by the way. Blogging for Money spotted that I was the first blogger to leave The Blog Herald back on December 6th, good job. Kamrul included me in his list of most influential bloggers of 2006, which is very flattering considering the other names on there. And finally Munir Umrani’s recommended reading post that points to both my interview with Matt Craven over at Bloggertalks, and my recent post about the trouble of finding a good dotcom name. Thanks guys, I appreciate it!
Now, if you get some link love you should always give it back, so I did above of course. Also, I like to say thanks (or hi, at least) when someone pimps something I’ve done, either in the comments or in an e-mail. I don’t pretend to see every inbound link I get, but the ones I do get across usually gets this treatment. I think it’s just common sense to be polite and nice.
With that I’ll point you to today’s interview over at Bloggertalks. Howard Lindzon talks Wallstrip, web TV and The Blogging Times, take a look.
Sometimes it’s really hard to find a good domain name for your projects. I limit myself to dotcom domains since I don’t want to make regular readers of various Pale Publishing blogs too confused.
One of the blogs planned for release in the network this year evolved before even being developed. To the better I’m sure. Anyway, this presented the not so easy task of finding a more, well, general domain for the project. We had a great one for the smaller niche, but this changed everything so we’ll have to use it for something else (it can be read in various ways so that might work). This has been quite a nuisance the past two weeks, and has pushed the release forward by this time as well. Actually, it has pushed everything, very annoying.
But now, finally, a domain we can live with! Short, easy to remember, pretty close to the topic. Nice.
Hopefully I’ll do the launch post for the blog next week. If my bloggers can find some time in the middle of the Christmas chaos that is.
As you probably know, I left The Blog Herald shortly after the new owners revealed themselves. That had nothing to do with my decision, but it is the only negative – or cynical perhaps – thing I’ve heard since my public announcement here, and over at The Blog Herald.
All else is praise, thanks, good lucks, and other nice things.
That’s great and heartwarming, and also something that spurs me onward with my new ventures. Leaving The Blog Herald meant I got free time in my crowded schedule, but rest assured I’ve had no problems whatsoever to fill that gap to the max.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have e-mailed me in the past few days. If I haven’t replied yet, I will soon enough. Your thoughts and good wishes are appreciated.
Love is in the air indeed.
Today marks my first day over at David Krug’s new media news blog 901am. I’ll be blogging frequently there, more or less daily actually, starting next week.
This weekend is all about the Wii for mii. (Sorry.)
The holiday issue of PTD, the PDF magazine where yours truly is a regular contributor, is out now. It sports a cleaner look, as well as an in-depth focus on the new generation gaming systems.
There’s also a hint on one of the upcoming sites in my network, if you look closely…
Anyway, I’ll let you see for yourself. Go check it out.
PTD is evolving as well, and I’m glad to be part of it. I’d love to say more, but you’ll just have to wait and see. 2007 will be a good year for PTD, I’m sure.
Also, I would talk more about this if I felt better, but you’ll have to settle for the last page in th PDF. Think I’m coming down with something. It might be the Wii disease…
