Not this server for once though.
Man, I’m so tired. My weekend consisted of trying to restore a big Swedish site on a server with a burnt out disk. The hosting company did a great job setting up a new server for me, but DNS’ can’t be re-pointed to a new location instantly, and besides they couldn’t start restoring data from the dead disk until Monday so… Well, that was my Saturday night.
Sunday was all code, and today I’ve restored 50% of that same Swedish site, leaving me a full day behind schedule for an upcoming relaunch.
Doing stuff on the server now as well, so heavy on the poor ol’ Firefox that I can’t use it while it’s working. I probably pasted a little too many SQL commands there… Writing this in Safari, which actually isn’t half bad anymore.
Yeah, I feel just a little bit sorry for myself right now. This week will just get better though, and yes, that’s irony for you folks. Funeral on Friday and it involes taking a trip and staying from home two nights, which I hate.
My schedule is crying tears of blood and I just want to sleep.
Deep breaths, one step at a time. Sooner or later it’s a new week, with the prospect of things working out better.
Alex King, the famous Wordpress plugin developer extraordinaire, is interviewed over at Bloggertalks. I think Alex gave some great insights on plugin development, how the community handles it and so on. Oh, and he talks about Wordpress in general, Automattic and the Share Icon project as well.
Head over to Bloggertalks and take a look!
It’s not a good day being Bill Gates in the TDH workspace. Windows have been pushed back, way back, due to my Ubuntu experiment (which in no way is scrapped, more later), and now the nail hit the coffin for real.
I’m writing this on my brand new MacBook, listening to David Bowie’s Heathen on iTunes. That felt appropriate.
For me, Apple computers over the years have been ridiculously over-priced. Some still are, like the MacBook Pro (needless to say, I went with a fully pimped out Standard), but there’s some reason to it nowadays. Sure, I would have gotten a hotter configuration for my money if I went Windows laptop PC, but since I have pretty high demands on my hardware due to the design business, it still feels I got pretty much for my money. Apple knows how to charge for stuff though, the brilliant bluetooth Mighty Mouse is pretty expensive, but I like it. And although I did get quite a bit of extra stuff for my MacBook, breaking the planned budget a bit, I still think it was a decent deal. Read more
Lo! It’s back!
Bloggertalks takes a new grip on the blogosphere’s finest with Tony Hung interviewing ProNet Advertising’s superstar Neil Patel. He has some nice views on combining blogging with consulting and college, as well as other things of course.
Go check it out if you haven’t already!
There’s a bunch of interesting interviews in the works for Bloggertalks. Next one is due this weekend, or something like that. As usual we try to spread them out a bit. Also, a new feature will be added that will further to the conversation on a weekly basis. We’re not going news or anything though, others do that better.
You might remember Orn, a project that was supposed to be my first launch. That didn’t happen, I stumbled into other things instead, which is fine since it really is more fitting time-wise.
The delay was partly because of other opportunities, but also because my illustrator for this project have been very, very busy. Still is, just a little less than before. So that’s when the Orn logo draft, which I wanted him to do, landed in my inbox. A little tweaking and, well, here it is!

The Orn project will launch late this Spring. I’m secretly aiming for March, but you won’t be able to hold me to that, so don’t tell anyone…
Just a short break from my Away status:
Syntagma Media just got updated to the WP-Syntagma template I’m doing for them. Also, Stage Latest shows how a site in the Allusionz network magazine looks. Over the coming months you’ll most likely see upgrades to the complete Syntagma network, 50 or so sites…
I have a few things left to do with these templates, including squashing some nasty IE6-ness, but then it’s all up to John & Co. I’m sure he’ll do nicely.
Expect a more in-depth look at why I did the way I did with these templates in the near future.
Away-state continues…
