A new noisemaker has arrived (and it’s not a baby)

I got home a couple of hours ago, bringing a new little toy, to my wife’s future dismay I’m sure. You see, I finally bought myself an electric guitar. Yes, as in “I wish I was a rock star” electric guitar that most of us got when we where teenagers and rocked out with poodle-like hair.

I never got one back then. I played the piano, poorly, and was busy making up fantasy worlds. As you can see I’ve barely grown up

Anyway, the guitar is nothing fancy at all, but it sounds OK to me and when I’ve bought a cheap V-Amp-thingy it’ll sound even better. And perhaps a new amplifier with a little more effect, that’s always a good thing although this will keep the house on its heels, and the neighbours awake if I choose.

First thought that comes to mind when I finally decided to actually buy an electric guitar and kick off the playing again? I should blog this, I mean really blog this as in an “I’m learning to play the guitar all over again, follow me down the route” blog. Then I told myself that it would be a great way to get me to actually claim some precious time for my newfound hobby, I mean, I was to blog about it and I’m pretty sure there’s enough wannabees out there that’ll be delighted to read about my shortcomings in this area. I actually almost convinced myself it was a good idea.

Which I think it is, if I didn’t stand knee deep in projects already. And since I doubt b5media will give me a share in their recently acquired $2 million to write this learning to play the guitar blog I’ll just stick with this one. In other words, I’ll keep you posted on how much I suck, and if it turns really ugly I’ll even try to record something. Fear me.

But just in case: I’ll take it easy on these guitar progress posts for now, just in case b5media or anyone else would suffer a mental blackout and sign me. The I’ll laugh all the way to the bank… err… Paypal account login screen!

Oh! What kind of guitar is it?

Nothing fancy I’m afraid, just a pretty cheap Cort. I learned to play the guitar with an acoustic one, which I also own and love, but I’ve been wanting to have an electric for quite some time.

I must say it’s a lot easier to play it per se, but I’m still not used to the slimmer neck of it. I’m getting there. :)
