You might have noticed the link to Pale Publishing on the bottom of every page here at the blog, or perhaps on the Links page. But actually following the link doesn’t tell you all that much so I figured I’d lift the lid a bit and tell you about my first international publishing outing.
So yes, it’s a publishing project. Most (if not all) of the titles will be in digital format, e-books and the like. We might sell them to the interested reader ourselves, or we’ll go through one of the numerous digital bookstores online. Either way, it’s coming.
What is “it” then? Well, at first we’ll focus on classic pen and paper role-playing games in PDF format. It will be original games, not some D20 outing at this time. At first you’ll not see any translations of our Swedish products, we’ll produce English material exclusively during our first three to six months in business. Later on we expect at least some crossbreeding between our Swedish role-playing products (which generally are released under the Alltid Attack brand) and our English ones. Anything else would just be plain stupid, wouldn’t it.
We’ll use our telltale rules system, called A2, and we’ll deliver both new and old product lines. Well, that new/old thing will of course only be something that the Swedish customer might relate to, since this will be our debut in English. However, as stated, all products at first will be written from the ground up.
As always we’ll use talented artists to brighten the readers’ day while reading our games. You can also expect a front page for every product, as well as everything you might need – not including dice of course since they’re pretty hard to cram into a digital product.
So Pale Publishing is, in fact, a role-playing games publishing project. However, we might not stop there – or we will, nothing’s for certain at this point. There are plans, for some reason there’s always plans, but this is what’s in the works right now.
The how’s and when’s are a bit fuzzy at the moment. Don’t expect to see anything from Pale Publishing until late 2006 or (more likely) sometime 2007. What you can expect, however, is information bits and pieces at this site, so stay tuned.
By the way, isn’t fantasy is real, science fiction is fact a pretty nice tagline?

wow thats some plans you got there! looking forward to see what youre up to tdh!
Now this is exciting news indeed. I’ll be looking forward to the “bits and pieces” of information here
Well, as I said, you won’t see any releases until late 2006 (if we’re lucky) or 2007 (which is way more likely). Expect the first hints on what’s going on in the coming month or so.
