Moleskine and the Inspiration of Good Gear

Moleskine notebooks, one of the finer things in life

Moleskine notebooks, one of the finer things in life

As you know, I’m a huge Moleskine fan, with notebooks to the left and right. I’m definitely not alone in my obsession, lots of people swear by this line of notebooks. As I’ve written previously, I use notebooks for various things, such as keeping notes, write fiction, and I even switched to the Moleskine calendar this year, which proved to be a good choice.

It’s a bit nerdy I guess, to be so engrossed in a notebook, and a specific maker of notebooks at that, but I can’t help it. And besides, it does go the extra mile.

Moleskine notebooks are high quality gear, just like my Pilot G-2 pens are (although cheap, but they fit me). I like them for their quality, and the fact that they are great to write on in both 05 and 07 versions. The former I use for my smaller Moleskine notebooks, while the latter is my preferred size when writing in larger books, and in my calendar.

an inspiring work environment is good for both productivity, and your peace of mind

Good gear, such as the Moleskine notebooks, good pens, and so on, is great for my inspiration. It’s as simple as this: I want to use them. With most of my work being on the creative side, design or writing mainly, this is important to me. If I don’t want to work, if I don’t feel like it, I’ll perform worse than I would if I was feeling refreshed and eager to get down to business. Notebooks have proved to be my saviour for these thing several times, and have strengthen my beliefs that an inspiring work environment is good for both productivity, and your peace of mind.

That’s why I’m spending quite some money on pens and notebooks each year, just like I make sure that I not only have high quality accessories for my computer, and a good looking desktop. It’s all about paving the way for Inspiration to hit me with all its force.

That’s why I’m thrilled by a product like this, something that I wish I could’ve had when I went to Japan:

Found on Scription, another blog for the notebook obsessed out there, by the way. Rickshaw Bagworks is set to start production of the case demoed above in a few month’s time. I can’t wait!
