Three Nintendo DS must haves

Nintendo DS is a lovely little thing. This summer it has stolen a lot of my otherwise book-labeled time, which is fine of course. The past year the question of which portable console to have in your bag hasn’t even been worth considering since the PSP’s been bleak as even, and the DS plays Game Boy Advance games.

Anyway, three Nintendo DS must haves, in no particular order!

Tetris DS
The obvious one for me. Although Nintendo has somewhat tainted the original experience that is Tetris with Nintendo characters and remixed tunes from their own games, it still is the best puzzler out there. Holding pieces is cheating, however, so don’t do that when you’re playing me online. Yes, online over wifi and I’m hooked. Really, really hooked.

Animal Crossing: Wild World
Oh man, this is so slow, so cute, so cuddly that I can understand how people fail to get attached to it. I can also see how this game steals away an hour every day, forever. It’s The Sims, but cute and with actual gameplay, ten times better and addictive as hell.

New Super Mario Bros.
Sorry, can’t make this list without putting this up here as well. Read the review, then get it. Or the other way around, it really doesn’t matter.

Oh, and by the way - say hi to the In the 3’s category!

  1. Never really got the Animal Crossing Games, but I definitely concur on the other two.

  2. They are dangerous, oh so dangerous, the Animal Crossing games. You get hooked on it, really miss it when you don’t visit your village daily and so on. I realize it isn’t for everyone, but not giving it a go is definetely a mistake.
